Excl. - A welcome re-promotion for this title, originally released in 2000, but out of circulation for some time. February 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of the Buzzcocks first top 40 UK chart entry “What Do I Get?”. The Buzzcocks originally hailed from Manchester and by 1991 had already had 9 hit singles and 3 Top 40 albums. This concert was recorded in Germany in 1991 when they were at the height of their success. The Band are still gigging and releasing records and are still very popular, as well as maintaining a strong 'cult' following. Their songs such as 'Every Fallen In Love (With Somebody You Shouldn't've)' 'Promises' and ' What Do I Get' have been covered extensively, and have been widely used in TV advertising campaigns. Special features include an extra version of 'Boredom' which was filmed in Blackpool in 1996; complete band discography; complete Cherry Red CD catalogue and complete Visionary video catalogue.
Merge Records was started in the summer of 1989, by Laura Ballance & Mac McCaughan, the same summer they formed the band Superchunk in Chapel Hill, NC. The first couple releases were cassettes (remember those?), by WWAX and Bricks, followed by the first Superchunk (then known only as "Chunk") 7" single. The vinyl 7" was the format of choice for the first 3 years of the label, with cash borrowed from friends to finance projects (including singles from Erectus Monotone, Angels of Epistemology, and more Superchunk) and bedrooms serving as Merge HQ until 1992, when the first Merge full-length release, Tossing Seeds by Superchunk, was released on CD, LP, and cassette. With this release Merge also forged a relationship with Touch and Go Records of Chicago, who have done an admirable job manufacturing and distributing the bulk of Merge's full-length releases since then. Since '92 Merge moved from one charming-yet-run-down office to another until 2001, when we finally made the move from Chapel Hill down the road to a fine old building all our own in historic Downtown Durham, NC. In 2004 Merge Records is celebrating its 15th birthday, and while our roster has changed, rotated, permutated and expanded over the last 15 years, the quality we look for in records as fans is still there in the music we put out on Merge. Thanks for listening!

"Even after almost 40 years, the group's blistering guitar chords are still razor sharp, and Pete Shelley's trademark anguished vocals show few signs of wear." - ROLLING STONE. "The bass-driven punk-pop rattler sports an impressive buildup to its final chorus as the Buzzcocks' reigning singer, Pete Shelley, chants the title over and over again. It's a helluva breakup song and a solid reintroduction to a group of English greats who haven't released a full-length since 2006." - SPIN. "Shelley’s voice comes through more than usual in this song, but otherwise, it could be easily mistaken for a track off one of their older records." - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY.

Please note new street date: June 12. Having disbanded in 1981, Buzzcocks regrouped in 1989 and began to work on a new album, resulting in a demo cassette circulated in 1991. Featuring early versions of tracks which would appear on later albums, and material which would not make it that far, this collection has remained unreleased until now. Released in association with the band, ‘The 1991 Demo Album’ is alive with the combination of punk energy and melodic and memorable songwriting the band's reputation is founded on, and is both a long-awaited treat for fans and an important document of the group's rebirth.
Please note new street date: June 12. Buzzcocks require no introduction (but you're getting one anyway!). Pivotal to the punk and post-punk DIY movements, the group, led by frontman Pete Shelley and co-conspirator Steve Diggle, brought an essential pop sensibility and sartorial style to the late 1970s and early 1980s. Having disbanded in 1981, the band re-grouped in 1989 and continue to write, record and perform to this day, despite the saddening and untimely loss of Pete Shelley in 2018. This handsome box set captures the eight albums and numerous singles the band produced with Shelley during a 23 year period, alongside previously unheard rarities, demos and outtakes. Packed with remarkable music, including excellent re-visits of much of their best loved material on ‘A Different Compilation’, ‘Sell You Everything’ showcases a longevity and a hunger rarely seen in a band now into their forty-second year.
Please note new street date: February 26. Join Buzzcocks as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's formation in front of a ravenous London audience. Recorded in December 2006, and never before released on vinyl, ‘30’ captures the band on excellent form, performing twentyeight songs from across their back catalogue, including their seminal late 70s hits and highlights from the rest of their career. Still wired, still buzzing with punk energy and still playing loud, fast and unapologetically, this is the sound of a band on unstoppable form, led, as ever, by the inimitable combination of Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle. Limited to 1000 copies, this red vinyl edition promises to be a must-have for die-hards and collectors, and a brilliant primer for those not yet in the know.
