I don't think you need us to tell you about The Cribs, so we'll just say that these tracks are 2 of the very first things the band ever recorded. Ultra lo-fi early versions of tracks that went on to be re-recorded for their debut album. These were blasted out onto reel to reel tape by the band themselves in their own Springtime Studios (RIP) in Wakefield. No frills. Just raw power and enthusiasm. The Jen Schande tracks on the flipside are just as raw sounding in their own way, recorded at home on 8 track. Comparisons with the music of The Breeders and Cat Power were made at the time of their original release....and yeah, we can see why that happened.
