May 3 street date. Celebrating 30 years as a band, Big Ass Truck presents All You Can Handle, a career-spanning eighteen song retrospective of the legendary Memphis band. The album includes songs not commercially available since the 1990s and fully remastered. The Double LP with gatefold is available in 180g black vinyl. Liner notes by Robert Gordon and Andria Lisle, remastered for vinyl by Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Sounds and pressed at Memphis Record Pressing. Big Ass Truck etched a unique imprint in the history of Memphis music and defy easy categorization. Andria Lisle writes in the All You Can Handle liner notes, “What Big Ass Truck created was both comfortingly familiar and utterly new. If their sound was a cocktail, it was like shaking up equal parts Hi Rhythm Section and the Beastie Boys, adding a dash of Big Star and Dr. John the Night Tripper, and garnishing the concoction with a twist of the Meters. Memphis has a vast musical legacy, and Big Ass Truck was a particularly gifted part of the continuum. Yet because of the collective youth of the group, boundaries were bulldozed and traditions were razed. It was reverent irreverence, or maybe irreverent reverence. Whichever it was, it was glorious.” The acclaimed writer and filmmaker Robert Gordon adds, “They were hailed for their original blend of styles—rock and roll, hip hop, funk and jam band (before jam band was its own genre—before this combination was a genre). But better than sharp, Big Ass Truck was fun.” All You Can Handle triumphantly captures that fun and celebrates the 30th anniversary of the band. Big Ass lives!
